Photographing Meteor Showers

I'm heading north of Kansas City a couple hours on January 3rd to photograph the upcoming meteor shower, or at least TRY to photograph the meteor shower.  I'm planning on getting up there around 10pm and will try and spend all night there, returning in the morning once the sky starts getting light.

The moon will only be at 3% that night and so far the forecast is clear, but cold.  I have a van that will seat 4, so the first three people that want to go with me, will get the chance.

I've read up on photographing meteor showers a little, and it probably will be an all-night affair.  If you want to come, make sure you have a camera or timer that can do multiple shots, plenty of empty cards, or large ones, a sturdy tripod and a coffee cup!  I'll bring a porta-poti just in case, but I'm trying to get permission to park in a church parking lot in the area that I want to take photographs.

If you're interested, email me at or give me a call at 816-200-7247.

Anybody interested?  I'm leaving KC about 6pm on Thursday, January 3rd and will be returning around daylight on January 4th, 2019.
