Dear Members and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today to confirm the formal dissolution of the Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City (PPAGKC), effective December 31, 2025.
As you know, we have worked diligently to find a sustainable path forward, but without new leadership and new members, and given changing circumstances, we have determined that we cannot continue to operate PPAGKC in a meaningful way.
While this is a time of sadness, it is also a time for gratitude and reflection on our incredible journey together. I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone who has contributed their time, creativity, and passion to our organization. Over the years, we have been more than just a photography association; we have been a community (a family) with a mission to lead, educate, capture, and immortalize the beauty around us.
I am immensely proud of the many achievements we have shared:
Successful workshops and monthly meetings that expanded our skills and horizons.
Memorable city-wide exhibitions and competitions that showcased the immense talent within our group.
The genuine camaraderie and support system we built, where seasoned photographers welcomed and mentored newcomers.
These experiences and the connections forged will leave a lasting impression on all of us.
We have accomplished great things through our shared dedication and teamwork, and I am grateful for the privilege of having served as your president.
We will have our final meeting as a thank-you and fellowship Holiday Party at H&H Color Lab in Raytown, MO, on Monday, December 8, 2025, with a 5:30 pm social hour, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm dinner, and activities, all at no charge to you and your plus one.
PLEASE RSVP with your name(s) and a phone number for our meal head count by Friday, December 05, 2025, by 5:00 pm, to ppagkc2025@gmail.com
One door closes, but another opens. I encourage each of you to continue pursuing your photographic passions. I hope our paths cross again, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. My door is always open for friendship, education, photography, Photoshop, Digital Art, image reviews, and of course, one-on-one mentoring and a smile.
Please consider joining your state associations and our national association to further your education and build lifelong friendships.
