    First Fridays Walkabout

    Come With Us!

Join members of PPAGKC for a gallery walkabout Friday, April 5th, 2019 during First Friday's in the Crossroads District of Kansas City, Missouri!!

We will meet at in front of Photos Edge, on the sidewalk at 6:00pm, Friday, April 5th, 2019.  We are planning on returning to our starting point at 8:00pm.

    What is First Fridays?

Smooth jazz and soulful ballads fill the air, floating around street corners and parking lots as a crowd gathers to watch a break dancer. Food trucks are corralled like chuck wagons of old while the tantalizing smell of street tacos and gourmet appetizers wafts through the crowd, accompanying intricately displayed artwork in funky studios and multi-story art emporiums.

These are the sights, sounds and flavors of First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District, one of KC’s most unique events in one of its most unique neighborhoods. Visitors and locals alike take to the streets, walking from a pop-up party to a craft brewery to a fine art gallery, a stone’s throw from one another.  On the first Friday of each month, venture south of Downtown KC—either by KC Streetcar, car, bike or by foot—to experience the avant-garde neighborhood that the arts built.

There is NO COST to join us, but we would like to know you're coming.  Please RSVP so that we know how many to expect to come with us!

The Magnetic Brand: Does the face of your business attract or repel?

Every photographer has a brand, and every brand sends a message. This is powerful when it’s done well, and detrimental when it isn’t.

We will challenge you to take a closer look at the way you present what you do, and look at examples across various industries to pinpoint the secrets to powerful brands.

Ready to start attracting more of the right people?

    Where Does Inspiration Come From?

Inspiration can sometimes be the most elusive ingredient artist seek for their careers. You can teach and master all of the technical aspects but if you do not have inspiration and truly original ideas your work will blend in with the masses.

There is no easy answer on how to be inspired and have a plethora of ideas at your fingertips. We are all different in our personalities, thinking and life experiences. In this lecture I am going to go through all of the ways I have pulled inspiration out of the rabbit hole and put it onto paper as fine art.

Techniques you can use if you are feeling “stuck” and discovering your own inspiration style so you can recognize it and fine tune it to serve you in your career. This talk will be an open discussion if others wish to share their blocks, struggles or thought processes and any tips I may have to get you over the hump and on to creating!
